On this occasion, Cosmo Oil announces that it has provided support for the Japan concerts "From Sweden, the Peärls Before Swïne Experience -- 5 minutes of pearls of a new musical world from Scandinavia and Japan," which has been sponsored by the non-profit organization Glovill. This NPO is committed to increasing the awareness and appreciation of contemporary classical music in Japan.
The Perls Before Swne Experience is currently the most successful contemporary music ensemble (Fl, Vn, Vc, Pn) in the nations of Scandinavia. In their Japan concerts, the ensemble performed only short pieces, of about five minutes each, arranged by Swedish and Japanese composers. This has been a valuable opportunity to present the works of Swedish musicians, who may not be well known in Japan.

The Peärls Before Swïne Experience (www.swinepearl.com) was formed in 1995. In the less than ten years since, because of their originality, PBSE has grown into the most successful contemporary music ensemble across Scandinavia. What distinguishes them from other ensembles is the fact that they only perform concerts with short pieces, of about five minutes each, which have been written for them. Their repertoire has expanded to more than 80 pieces, written by composers
from 18 different countries. They are also famous back in Stockholm for SEKT (www.sekt.nu), which is a club that produces cutting-edge art. PBSE has released two CDs on the Caprice label, and were rated five stars in the German CD magazine "Fonoforum". The ensemble’s many new endeavors have also been regarded highly in Sweden’s main newspapers, Svenska, Dagbladet and Expressen. In 2004, PBSE was presented the Kristallpriset (The Crystal Prize) from Edition Reimers and The Swedish Conductors Association for their contribution to modern music. |
